Roman Manoeuvres

Mr Bullock visited us to tell us all about the Roman army. He told us all about the different weapons and equipment Roman soldiers used. He also told us about the Latin names for different Roman manoeuvres such as the tortoise shaped manoeuvre the soldiers formed with their shields called a testudo. We had great fun in the hall being drilled like real Roman soldiers.

Art

Self Portraits

We took photos of the class and then each one was cut in half. The pupils had to carefully draw and then paint half of their own face. We used watercolour pencils to make such a super job. Don't they look great!

Science

 Shadows

Class 3 did an experiment to show how shadows alter  throughout the day. We drew around a pupil with chalk on the playground and then the same pupil stood in the same place every hour and we could see how the shadows had changed.

History

 Celts

We used Modroc to make these Celtic heads of warriors. After it had set we painted them, used wool for their hair and then added the designs of blue woed to make them look like proper warriors!
